Help Is Available This May Bank Holiday
 – Just Contact NHS 111

‘Help is available this May bank holiday’, say GPs in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin.

NHS 111 will be available to contact, and practices will be open across the county during normal opening times on Friday, 8 May – although you may be asked to attend a different practice if you need a face-to-face appointment.

Pharmacies will also be open between 2pm and 5pm, with some pharmacies planning to open for longer.

Residents are advised to check practice and pharmacy websites for opening times as well as specific arrangements for the May bank holiday.

Also open are Urgent Treatment Centres at the Whitchurch and Bridgnorth Minor Injury Units, which have been temporarily relocated from the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford and the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.

Health bosses at the Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) are urging people not to hesitate to seek help if they have any health concerns.

Help is available either by calling NHS 111, free from any landline or mobile, by visiting 111.nhs.uk, or contacting your GP practice directly. People should only attend the premises if they have a pre-booked appointment.

Parish Council Meetings – new arrangements to be made

The Government has issued regulations regarding local council meetings in the light of the Covid 19 pandemic, which mean that face-to-face meetings are currently postponed. The Parish Council will continue to conduct essential business and is exploring setting up ‘virtual’ meetings which the public may be able to view.

If you have a matter which you wish to draw to the attention of the Council, please email or telephone the Locum Clerk on clerk@selattyn-gobowenpc.org.uk and 07866 494411

Easter Opening Times for GP Practices and Pharmacies in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin

GP practices in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin will be ‘open as usual’ on Good Friday and Easter Monday this bank holiday weekend.
In support of this, pharmacies will also open between 2pm and 5pm on these days, with some pharmacies planning to open for longer.
Residents are advised to check GP practice and pharmacy websites for specific opening times as these may vary.
In the midst of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, people are asked not to attend their GP practice unless they have a pre-booked appointment.
However, people are also advised that despite the outbreak, those that need to contact their GP should still do so.
If anyone needs an appointment they can contact their practice. There is also help and advice available from 111.nhs.uk or by calling 111 free from any landline or mobile.
